Always take one or two extra layers with you especially if it is cold. You can put on or take off layers according to how hard you are hiking and it’s always good to have some warm fleece to put on when you stop for your breaks. Keep your head dry by using the adjustable hood on your jacket or a wide brimmed waterproof breathable hat. Keep your feet dry and warm by wearing a good pair of waterproof hiking boots and hiking socks. Make sure that your boots have “gusseted” tongues to keep the water out of your boots if you step in a puddle.
Enjoy Hiking In The Rain, You might wonder why anyone would want to hike the rain? Isn’t it just wet, miserable and cold? Well you might recall when you were a kid you couldn’t wait to get outside and splash around in the puddles whenever it rained. Ever wonder why we sometimes lose that childhood excitement when we get older. Well spring is just around the corner and with spring comes rain here on the west coast. I for one actually quite enjoy hiking in the rain and as far as I am concerned a wet day hiking is better than a dry day indoors. But how do you stay dry and warm when it is pouring outside? Well I hope that after reading this article you will have this question answered and you will get out and enjoy hiking in the rain.
